Bath launches inaugural Art Walk on Friday, June 16
Bath artists opened their doors on Friday, June 16, from 5 – 7:30
p.m., for Bath’s inaugural Third Friday Art Walk. The Art
Walk featured twenty-five sites altogether, including a dozen artist
studios. Curator Tom Crotty hosted guests at the Chocolate Church
Arts Center showing Celebrating Excellence in Maine Art. Minerva’s
Bounty featured classical guitarist Brian Cullen and showed works by
the Mid-Maine Art Guild. DeTerre offered live music for the evening
and local poets read at Cafe Crème. The newly opened Sarah
Greenier Gallery and Claudette Gamache Gallery’s opened their doors. A
number of restaurants and inns exhibited work by area artists and will
be a regular part of the walk.
Most Art Walk sites are in easy walking distance in downtown Bath. Trolley
rides to sites away from downtown are available for a small fee. A
map with all sites is included in the bright blue Art Walk brochure,
available at local galleries and businesses. Mark your calendar
for third Fridays through October: June 16, July 21, August 18, September
15, October 20, 5 – 7:30 p.m. and stay tuned for additional dates.
