Theater Project Cafe
June 30 and July 1
Hello to all our friends and family! Here's
what's coming up next at The Theater Project:
We've debuted a new series this year called CAFE - it features area performers
in a casual setting, getting the chance to show their stuff. All our
eclectic CAFE presentations have been very much enjoyed by our audience - and
they are a lot of fun for us too! If you missed CAFE in November or April,
you'll have another chance to attend! The third CAFE in our continuing
series will be presented Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1 at 8:00 PM.
This time around, classical guitarist Brian Cullen, folk singer Kat Logan,
poet Herb Coursen, singer/songwriter Matt Newberg and actor and dancer
Don Weatherbee will join Master of Ceremonies Al Miller on stage.
Brian Cullen has been studying, playing, and teaching classical guitar
since he began in South Africa, years and years ago. Cullen's performances
captivated listeners at our April CAFE. He will play both Friday and
Saturday, with a different program for each evening.
Kat Logan, proprietor of Maine Street Art in Brunswick, has also played
and sung at an earlier Theater Project CAFE and is back by popular demand. She
will be performing Saturday night.
Herb Coursen, poet and Shakespearean scholar, has been involved for years
with The Theater Project as a discussion leader, playwright, dramaturge
and critic. Coursen
has published several books of poetry. He will be reading Friday and
Saturday nights.
Matt Newberg is a singer and songwriter who has been writing, composing
and performing for years. He is also a former Tiny Tim a long-time-ago Theater
Project production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. He will be performing original
acoustic folk music on Friday.
Don Weatherbee has been acting with The Theater Project for more years
than he wants to count. He began dancing before acting and continues to do
his own choreography and to work with other dancers and choreographers in the
area. He will be doing some of his choreography for both CAFE's.
Coffee and refreshments will be available at the CAFE's. Performances
run between an hour and a half and two hours. Suggested ticket price is $10.
